Taking a break from essay-writing, I posted a picspam of my choice of actors to play Russell and Holmes in my imaginary film adaptation. Stephen Dillane is fairly well known now for his TV/film work as Thomas Jefferson in John Adams, Leonard Woolf in The Hours, and Brooks Baekeland in Savage Grace. He has been described as one of the finest theatre actors of his generation. He won the Richard Burton Shakespeare Globe Award in 1995 for the title role in "Hamlet" at the Gielgud Theatre directed by Sir Peter Hall. On Broadway he won the Best Actor Tony Award 2000, Best Actor Drama Desk Award 1999/2000, and Theatre World Award 2000.Mia Wasikowska is a young Australian actress whose breakthrough role was in HBO's series In Treatment, where she played a young Olympic-hopeful gymnast who her therapist fears may be suicidal. Recently, she's been in a number of high-profile films, including Edward Zwick's Defiance, Mira Nair's Amelia, and Tim Burton's upcoming Alice in Wonderland, in which she plays the title character.
